Effective management is crucial for any team to succeed. Although there is no “right” management style, there are certain principles that must be followed to ensure that your management approach is effective.

In this article, we will discuss eight essential principles that every manager can practice to becoming a better leader and help the team achieve its goals.

标准一致

Be consistent

如果领导者想让管理方法凑效,必须确保做事的标准具备一致性。

如果你曾经奖励过员工某种行为,那么这种行为再次出现也要进行奖励;如果你曾经惩罚过员工某种行为,这种行为再次出现也要惩罚。

公正、平等地对待团队中的每个成员。这样才能够建立起有效的团队动力,让团队不断进步。

Before your management approach can be effective, it must be consistent. You must reward the same behaviors every time they appear, discourage the same behaviors when they appear and treat every member of your team with an equal, level-headed view.

清晰的高频沟通

Communicate clearly and often

领导者与团队之间的沟通方式最终决定你是否能够成功。在所有沟通形式中,在每一次沟通的过程中,作为领导者的你,要力求表达清晰、准确和全面。

How you communicate to your team can dictate your eventual success. Strive for clarity, accuracy and thoroughness in all communication mediums.

公开激励

Publicly recognize & reward good work

一旦公司员工做出了卓越的贡献,无论是增加了收入或是节省了费用,作为领导者,应该及时的,在团队面前公开的给予奖励——可以是奖金、小奖杯,哪怕只是口头夸奖。

When a member of your team does something exceptional, reward him/her -- with a bonus, a small trophy or even just a vocal recognition. Do these in front of the group.

避免做事“一刀切”

Never go with "one-size-fits-all"

记得,你的团队是一群具有不同性格,不同风俗习惯、甚至不同的优势、劣势和想法的个体组成。要聚焦于每一个人,为他们私人订制合适的管理指导方法。

Your team is comprised of individuals with unique preferences, strengths, weaknesses and ideas. Focus on individuals, and customize your approach to fit each one.

保持透明

Remain as transparent as possible

保持一贯的透明度,展现了你作为领导者的正直与诚信,是建立与团队成员之间信任的重要因素。

Transparency shows your integrity as a leader and builds trust with your team members.

广开言路

Encourage all opinions and ideas

即使某个团队成员提出的意见与你最初的想法相悖或者并没有经过深思熟虑,也不要指责他们。因为对发表观点的人进行批评会引起对你的反感,并且会使人们不愿意分享自己的新想法。

Never chastise a team member for voicing an opinion respectfully - even if it goes against your original vision or isn"t well thought out. Cutting someone down for voicing an opinion builds resentment and discourages people from sharing their own new thoughts.

创造一个舒适的办公室氛围和企业文化,让员工们乐于上班。

Create a comfortable environment and culture so people enjoy coming to work.

以身作则

Lead by example

最顶级的领导力就是管理者能以身作则,你应该以自己的行为为榜样,并努力成为你心中理想的完美员工。

Lastly, you should set an example in terms of your behavior and strive to be your own ideal of the perfect worker.
